For more than twenty-five years, Regina Marscheider has been wowing audiences with her handcrafted casts of hundreds from the smallest of finger puppets and marionettes to life-size walking masterpieces. As director of Spectrum Entertainment, Regina has been producing, directing and designing her world-class originals with a performance history that includes appearances on The Today Show, The Late Show with Joan Rivers and The Dr. Laura Show. Throughout her earlier career and professional affiliation with Puppeteers of America, she met and was influenced by Master Puppeteers including Jim Henson and Frank Oz (the Muppets) and Burr Tillstrum (Kukla, Fran and Ollie). Now a Master Puppeteer in her own right, Regina Marscheider spreads smiles and joy through a myriad of entertainment venues from puppet shows and festivals to fundraisers and full scale musical extravaganzas. Her performances have electrified thousands at such grand events as the International Arts Festival in Norfolk, Virginia, and shows at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Through partnerships with the performing arts, Regina has thrilled audiences with Peter and the Wolf, Sea Side Follies and Gary Grouper¹s Aqua Cultural Adventure, accompanied by the Virginia Symphony, among many others. Each year, Spectrum Entertainment provides summertime family-friendly entertainment for thousands of vacationers along the boardwalk of Virginia Beach with puppets, bands, jugglers, magicians, and other street performers, creating memories to last far beyond summer vacation. She has toured elementary schools throughout the United States and Canada with her Emmy award-winning child abuse prevention program, "Knock, Knock Who¹s There?", which teaches children how to recognize, avoid and disclose abuse to a safety-net provider. It is no wonder Regina has been bestowed with numerous awards including an Emmy in 1994, an FBI Director¹s Community Leadership Award in 1996, Virginia Beach Human Rights Award in 2002, a Foundation for the Improvement of Justice Award in 2002, an Alli Award in 2003 and a regional and statewide Jefferson Award in 2005.Regina resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with her husband and co-producer Ed Marscheider.
